Michelle - Founder

Hi, I’m Michelle – long-time dog mum, road trip enthusiast and the human behind PawTripper.

I’ve shared my adult life with dogs, but it wasn’t until Eliza came along that the idea for PawTripper this site really started to take shape. She’s a rescue pup from the USA with a big heart, a bigger personality, and a rare condition called megaesophagus. Looking after has taught me more about patience, creativity and adventure than I ever thought possible.

Together, we’ve covered some serious ground – more than 13,500 kilometers flown, 8,000 kilometers driven, and 7 major cities explored side by side. Every trip has been a reminder that travel is richer (and messier, and more joyful) with a dog along for the ride.

When we relocated to Australia, I found myself searching endlessly for places that would welcome Eliza as I took her everywhere I went. I wanted cafés that would bring her a water bowl without me asking, walking tracks where she could sniff to her heart’s content, and beaches where muddy paws weren’t a dealbreaker. But the info was scattered and often vague. So, I decided to create the resource I wished I’d had: a dog-friendly travel platform that’s practical, honest, packed with heart and a dedication to my favourite pup.

Eliza is a scruffy little mystery mix with soulful eyes, a shoe fetish and delightfully stubborn nature. She’s our co-pilot on every trip, whether we’re chasing autumn leaves in Daylesford or watching the tide roll in on the Central Coast. NSW. Despite her medical needs, she lives for adventure as long as it ends in a ball play, cuddle and a soft spot to nap.

Pawtripper is for anyone who believes dogs aren’t just pets – they’re travel companions, mood boosters, and members of the family. Through this site, I hope to help you plan holidays where tails wag, memories are made, and no one gets left behind.
