Full Review: Manly Pacific Hotel Sydney Dog-Friendly Stay

Manly Pacific puts you and your pup right on the beachfront – ocean views, coastal walks and cafés at your feet and paws

Staying at the Manly Pacific puts you right in the middle of everything that makes this beachside suburb special. The hotel sits opposite Manly Beach, so mornings start with a salty breeze and the sound of the waves. Step outside and you’ve got coastal walks that run all the way to Shelly Beach, cafés spilling onto the footpath and a laid-back energy in one of Sydney’s most dog friendly neighbourhoods. Add in the hotel’s pet-friendly rooms and you’ve got a stay that feels as much about the neighbourhood as the hotel itself.

Let’s check into Manly Pacific and see what a dog-friendly beachfront stay in Sydney really looks like.

Dog Friendly Features at Manly Pacific

Pet Fee & Packages

Dog-friendly bookings must be made in advance with the hotel’s reservations team. Fees apply – confirm at booking as rates may vary.

Pet Rooms

Pups are welcome in the hotel’s Superior Ocean View Rooms, complete with a private balcony overlooking Manly Beach. Rooms come with either one King bed or two Queen beds, so there’s space for couples, families and their four-legged sidekicks.

Price

$$$ – Premium beachfront pricing. Manly Pacific sits at the higher end of the scale, with pet-friendly rooms commanding a premium for the ocean views.

Pet Policy

Dogs only, with one dog per room preferred. Advance notice is required when booking. Pups must be supervised in public areas and can’t be left unattended in rooms.

Welcome Amenities

Dogs are greeted with treats, a designer dog bed and water bowls. Puppy room service is also available with complimentary puppachinos, so they can snack in style while you raid the minibar.

Green Spaces Nearby

With Manly Beach right across the road, mornings start with sandy paws and sea air. Shelly Beach and the Cabbage Tree Bay Aquatic Reserve are just a short coastal walk away, while Ivanhoe Park offers a shady retreat inland.

Staff Friendliness

Staff are used to welcoming pups and their people – from check-in to setting up the room with all the essentials, the process is simple and warm.

Our Take

The rooms are bright, breezy and built around those beach views, with a bed already laid out for your pup and even room service just for them. While dogs can’t run on Manly Beach itself, there are plenty of nearby walks – from the coastal path to Shelly Beach to leafy parks tucked just behind the Corso. And honestly, that’s the point: Manly is one of Sydney’s most dog-friendly neighbourhoods, packed with cafés, pubs and locals who treat dogs as part of the scene. Staying here makes it easy to plug into the Manly lifestyle.

Staying at Manly Pacific

There’s something about waking up at Manly Pacific that reminds you why people fall hard for this suburb. You pull back the curtains and the beach is right there – surfers already out, joggers pounding the promenade, locals walking their dogs like it’s the most natural thing in the world. The rooms are slick but not sterile; ocean light bounces off terrazzo and timber, balconies catch the salt air and the minibar’s stocked for both you and your pup.

Why We Recommend Manly Pacific

Because it gives you front-row seats to one of Sydney’s best beaches while letting your dog come along for the ride. The rooms are set up with real thought – balcony views, dog beds, even a full room service menu for pups and outside the door you’ve got Manly’s cafés, pubs and parks, all buzzing with dogs and their people.

Neighbourhood Highlights

Where to Play

Dog-Friendly Parks & Walks

  • Manly Lagoon Park – A short walk from the hotel with grassy areas and a popular off-leash zone where dogs can run free.
  • Ivanhoe Park – Leafy and central, great for a shaded stroll if you’re after a break from the beach.
  • North Steyne & Queenscliff Foreshore – While the sand at Manly Beach itself is off-limits to dogs, the foreshore paths make for a scenic, dog-friendly walk.

Where to Eat & Drink

Dog-Friendly Cafes

  • The Roast Office – A Manly favourite tucked away from the main drag, known for excellent coffee and plenty of dogs sprawled out front.
  • The Bower – Overlooking the water between Manly and Shelly, with outdoor seating that’s as popular with pups as their humans.
  • Market Lane Café – Buzzing with locals, strong coffee and always a few four-legged regulars.
  • Rollers Bakehouse – Famous for its creative croissants and pup-friendly pavement tables.

Dog-Friendly Pubs

  • 4 Pines Brew Pub – Manly’s iconic craft brewery, with outdoor seating perfect for sipping a pale ale with your pup by your side.

Before You Book

  • Address: 55 North Steyne, Manly NSW 2095
  • Parking: Onsite underground parking is available, charged at $50 per day. The car park is fully indoor and secure, with direct access to the hotel. Street parking in Manly is scarce and heavily metered, especially near the beachfront, so booking onsite parking is the most reliable option.
  • Transport: The hotel sits right on Manly Beach, about a 30-minute ferry ride from Circular Quay – one of Sydney’s most scenic commutes. Buses connect Manly to the Northern Beaches and the CBD, though most of the suburb is best explored on foot. Cafés, pubs, and the coastal walk to Shelly Beach are all within a few minutes of the lobby.
