Our Take

Ibis Sydney Airport is all about practicality. The pet-friendly rooms aren’t fancy, but they’ve got the space, soundproofing and simple perks that make stopovers with a dog easy. The real win is location — close to the terminals, close to parks, and soon to be even more useful once dog-friendly flights take off. It’s not luxury, but it does exactly what you need it to.

Staying at Ibis Sydney Airport

Ibis Sydney Airport keeps things simple: clean, budget-friendly rooms with just enough extras to make a stopover with your dog comfortable. The new pet-friendly rooms are the highlight – blackout blinds, soundproofing and oversized bathrooms with extra floor space. Complimentary treats and bedding are included and there’s even the option to order from the cheekily named “Zooooom Service” menu. Transfers are easy with shuttles, taxis and Mascot Station close by – or if you and your pup need to stretch your legs, the Domestic Terminal is about a 25-minute walk away. It’s not about indulgence here – it’s about convenience, a solid rest and an easy base for travelling with your pup.

It’s pretty simple, really. Ibis Sydney Airport is affordable, practical and set to be the perfect complement to Virgin Australia’s in-cabin dog-friendly flight trial. Getting in late? Stay the night here to get you and your dog settled. Then be ready to explore the next day.
